Type Locality: Bathonian from Etienville (Pas de Calais, France)
see Alloiteau 1957, p. 97, Fig. 177-178, pl. 4 fig. 4 and pl. 18 fig. 3. The holotype was verified but thin sections (paratypes) were not available. The microstructure is documented in Gilll and Lafuste 1971.
Classification
Description
Solitary corallum. Calice elliptical. Calicular platform moderately deep. Radial elements are compact, free, exsert, bicuneiform, straight to curved costosepta. Ornamentation weak or weakly preserved. Enlarged teeth on inner edge of major septa. Under the binocular, eroded septa of the holotype shows very well the difference between trabecular tissues and the laminar layers. Radial symmetry not easy to decipher. Bilateral symmetry characterized by the elongated fossa, the elliptical shape of the corallite and the torsion of septa. Vesicular dissepiments. Near the wall their convexity is directed upward. The wall is parathecal.
Remarks
Alloiteau (1957) considered that the difference with Montlivaltia is that the wall is septothecal, but his figure 177 is not demonstrative. It is just a good demonstration that laminar layers fill the volume between the septa, but we know that laminar layers are in continuity with endotheca in the various genera of Montlivaltidae (Lathuilière 1996).
