fulturae radial elements lateral faces

Summary

bar-like, buttress-like structures on septal faces, often fused with fulturae on adjacent septa, arranged more or less parallel to proximal-distal growth and normal to distal margins of septa, but often bifurcating. Formerly thought to be compound synapticulae but have their own well developed trabecular granulations or spines, and are microstructurally discordant with respect to the adjacent septal microstructure.
