menianum radial elements lateral faces

Summary

ledge-like feature on septal faces formed by aligned lateral extensions of trabeculae in a similar manner to pennulae. Menianes are, in effect, merged pennulae. May be homologous with some carinate structures in Rugosa. See also Carina, Pennula, Trabecula
