interseptal structure

Summary

informal term for any substantial skeletal element that projects from a septum into the space between adjacent septa, often connecting two adjacent septa (e.g. adtrabecular bars, fulturae, synapticulae). Excludes endothecal elements (i.e. dissepiments, tabellae and tabulae).
