Type Locality: Recent: off Florida, 841 m

Type species redescribed by Cairns (1979).

Classification

• Family: Caryophylliidae Dana, 1846
• Genus: Stephanocyathus Seguenza, 1864, p. 61

Diagnosis

Differs from the nominate subgenus by having 12-18 short costal spines or tubercles (C1-2) that sometimes fuse into a continuous basal rim.

Remarks

Three exclusively Recent species.
