Aplophyllia orbignyi= Lithodendron dichotomum Goldfuss in Michelin 1843, p. 95, pl. 19 fig. 6; Monotypy

Type Specimen: Syntype; MNHN ?; Lost; Unknown

Type Locality: Oxfordian and Kimmeridgian from Dun, Maxey sur Vaize, Verdun (Meuse), Novion Porcien, Le chêne populeux (Ardennes; France), Giengen (Souabe, Germany)

In the Michelin's collection, only specimens M 00028, M00127, M 00114, M 00116 exist and bear this name but do not come from the type locality and belong to other valid genera. For this reason Aplophyllia should be abandoned. See Proaplophyllia Roniewicz 1976.
