Margarastraea klipsteini Frech in Volz 1896:55, pl. 5, fig. 7; Monotypy Frech, 1896:55

Type Specimen: Unknown; GBA ; Not Traced; Dry Preserved

Type Locality: Dolomites, Southern Alps. Carnian, Late Triassic

Cuif 1976:121,pl.12,fig.6 examined a poorly preserved specimen from Frech collection, GBA, not figured in Volz 1896.

Classification

Diagnosis

Meandroid, thin wall facultatively developed. Costosepta thick, distal margin exsert, lateral faces with rounded granules. Endotheca dissepimental. Microstructure margarophylliid. Increase by division of corallites.

Remarks

One species in the Late Triassic of Europe, and two species reported from North America (Montanaro-Gallitelli et al. 1979)
