Diagnosis

Corallum forming small arborescent colonies by di- and tristomadeal intratentacular budding; calices often elongate; epitheca present; theca costate; septa in Pourtalès plan; columella trabecular.

Comparisons

Very similar to Schizopsammia but having some tristomadeal budding, a basal epitheca, and some endotheca.

Remarks

This genus and family were monographed by Cairns (2001), which included a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology. Five species, all fossil.
