Type Locality: unknown (Recent)

Gray (1835) exhibited the type of this species in London, but it could not be found at the Natural History Museum in London in 2012. "The details of this species given by M. Savigny in the fourth Plate of the Polypes, forming part of the great work on Egypt, leave little to be desired for its elucidation." (Gray, 1835, p.86)
