Hydrosclera Gaetani and Fois, 1979:262 is a not a scleractinian.

Synonym of a non-scleractinian Cassianastraea Volz, 1896, Procyathophora Weissermel, 1928 and Elasmophyllia Cuif, 1972(1973)[the latter: homonym of Elasmophyllia Achiaerdi, 1875].

Hydrosclera plumosa Gaetani and Fois, 1979:262; Original Designation Gaetani and Fois, 1979:262

Type Specimen: Holotype; MPUM 2420, 2421; Verified; Dry Preserved

Type Locality: Dolomites, Southern Calcareous Alps, Carnian

The type material was studied by Maurizio Gaetani and Elisabetta Fois.

Remarks

Not a coral. The taxon represents Cassianastraea Volz,1896, family Cassianastraeidae Montanaro-Gallitelli, 1979, order Lemniscaterina Montanaro-Gallitelli, 1979, Class Hydrozoa (paper Montanaro-Gallitelli published in 1980).

the proposed synonymy with Stylina lamarck cannot be accepted. Does Hydrosclera belong to Hydrozoa, Scleractinia or sponges ?...for me the question is open.
