Type Locality: Kimmeridgian (Upper Jurassic) from Nattheim (Germany)
The only type-specimen available (a unique syntype) is a silicified colony.
Classification
Description
Massive meandroid lobate corallum. Epitheca absent, costae equal. Intracalicinal increase producing valleys separated by deep grooves that separate external lobes. Radial elements are subcompact anastomosed curved biseptal sheets or costosepta. Distal edge dentate, inner edge with detached trabeculae, lateral faces ornamented with pennules dipping toward the calicinal center. No palis. Microstructure unknown. Hexameral symmetry not deciphered, bilateral symmetry marked by the elongation of biseptal sheets in the valleys/lobes. Endotheca made of vesicular dissepiments. Columella parietal papillose in a well marked depression, synapticulae present. Wall of unknown nature at the periphery of the colony only.
Remarks
Four nominal species were cited for the genus.
