Classification
Diagnosis
Corallum cerioid; inner septal margin club-like and setting off rare, thick trabecular lobes, septal sides with thick granulation; columella papillar; wall septothecal; endotheca dissepimental; increase by intracalicular budding
Description
Corallum detailed description in Roniewicz, 1970 based on the specimen well preserved in silica.
Comparisons
In colony structure, the genus resembles Favites and Goniastraea. From Favites differs in a specific, club-like form of septa; from Goniastraea differs in dissepimental, abundant endotheca. Microstructure illegible although some traces observable in thin section.
Remarks
Only Portlandian species is known.
