Classification

Remarks

In forming a solitary corallum, and having: small calicinal pit; irregularly perforated septa, that are pennular laterally; columella absent or reduced; endothecal dissepiments that are abundant, vesicular; synapticulae present, sparse; paratheca with septoparathecal developments (not mentioned by Eliasova, but seem to be present in the material originally documented for the taxon [=Eliasova, 2004, fig. 5]); Epitheca present; the taxon Miniphyllia very closely corresponds to the genus Neothecoseris. Because the creation of the genus Miniphyllia was not based on the Santonian type material by de Fromentel (which is most likely lost) but on material from the Upper Cenomanian of the Czech Republic, it remains unknown how much the Czech material corresponds to de Fromentel's species.

Distribution
