Lobophyllia-group
Diagnosis
Solitary and colonial; mostly intracalicular budding; meandroid (incl circumoral budding and cerio-meandroid), phaceloid, flabello-meandroid, corallites "organically united"; septothecal, paraseptothecal, or parathecal; septa laminar, formed by one fan system of trabeculae (except Cynarina); septal teeth often triangular, having poorly developed secondary calcification axes and extensive thickening deposits; palisade interarea between teeth; diffuse rounded granulations; varied microstructure; occasionally forming weak paliform lobes; trabecular columella, usually spongy; vesicular endotheca, usually well-developed; peritheca usually limited or absent.
