Diagnosis
Colonial, dendro-reptoid, consisting of branches with polyps alternately produced on one side of each branch in one plane. Gemmation extracalicinal. Calices circular, forming cone-shaped projections, united by a dense coenosteum. Surface granulated. Costosepta compact. Columella styliform, well-developed. Wall septothecal. Endothecal dissepiments vesicular.
Remarks
Based on the Tertiary type species Stylangia elegans, Reuss (1872) created a junior homonym of Fromentel's genus, which Wells (1937) later used to establish the genus Reussangia Wells (1937).
