Type Species

Thamnastrea (Spongitamnia) busillis De Gregorio, 1884, p. 257; Monotypy

Type Specimen: Unknown; ?; Not Traced; Unknown

Type Locality: Tithonian of Falde del Monte Pellegrino (Sicilia, Italy)

The subgenus was figured in De Gregorio 1899 pl. 2 fig. 7 and pl. 5 fig.5, two very different figures

Remarks

The initial diagnosis and contradictions between the texts (1884 and 1899) and figures cannot allow a coherent description. This taxon cannot be used without a revision of the type material. One nominal species.
