In having the following characteristics, the holotype of the type species of Siliningastraea very closely cortresponds to the genus Pseudocoeniopsis Roniewicz: plocoid colony; perithecal gemmation; compact costosepta that are granular laterally; number of costae that is twice the number of septa; costae thathave the tendency to dissociate to trabecular portions; parietal columella; rather small, subhorizontal endothecal dissepiments; parathecal wall. Therefore, their synonymy is suggested.
