Type Locality: unknown (Recent)

Milne Edwards and Haime (1848) assigned Meandrina daedalea Lamarck as the type species of Caeloria by original designation in 1848. They assigned the same species as the type species of Astroria by subsequent designation in 1849, but place it in synonymy with Madrepora daedalea Ellis and Solander 1786.
