Description
Massive cerioid corallum with polygonal corallites. Intracalicular increase. Radial elements compact frequently anastomosed even in a contratingent manner, attenuated, sinuous rarely confluent between calices. Distal edge not observed. Lateral faces with blunt irregularly distributed granules. The hexameral symmetry cannot be deciphered, bilateral symmetry discreet. Endotheca made of numerous vesiculose dissepiments Columella variable not known in distal view In section, the axial space is often occupied by the prolongation of a septum or two opposed septa, other major septa join the axial structure. No synapticulae. Wall septothecal at least in part.
Comparisons
Differs of Isastrea by the columella, the anastomosing septa and the septal ornamentation.
Remarks
Two nominal species.
