Type Species

Pseudostylina kovenkoi Alloiteau, 1939, p. 8 pl. 1 fig. 4, 5, 6; Monotypy

Description

Phaceloid corallum with cylindrical epithecate corallites subcircular in outline. Extracalicular increase. Radial elements are compact free bicuneiform straight costosepta. Distal edge not observed, inner edge probably without auriculae, lateral faces not observed. Microstructure unknown. Distinct hexameral symmetry with lateral S2 well developed. Endotheca of tabulae in several rings steeply inclined near the periphery and horizontal in the center , columella probably absent, parathecal wall.

Remarks

The divergence of the present description with Alloiteau (1939) (for instance the columella) is due to a different interpretation of the role of diagenesis. One nominal species.
