The types (holotype and 2 paratypes) were transferred from the AHF to the SDMNH in 1991. The original AHF catalog number was 16 and later changed to 50.1. Type species well described and illustrated by Cairns (1991).
Classification
Diagnosis
Corallum trochoid, up to 6 mm in GCD; theca imperforate; costal origin independent, finely granular; septa decamerally arranged in 3 cycles (i.e., 30 septa); pali absent; columella fascicular.
Remarks
This genus and family was monographed by Cairns (1997), which includes a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology. Contains only one species, as K. hoodensis Durham and Barnard, 1952 is a junior synonym of the type species. Figures: Cairns 1997: figs. 2e, 5f
