Praestephanocoenia Oppenheim, 1930, p. 472 is a nomen dubium (unavailable).

Remarks

Oppenheim (1930, p. 472) discussed the relationships between forms that had been assigned to Stephanocoennia. According to him, there were no significant differences between Cretaceous and recent forms of Stephanocoenia but doubted that the structures in Triassic taxa were of the same nature. For the latter forms, he created the genus name Praestephanocoenia. However, because Oppenheim did not specify any characteristics nor did he give any information regarding material upon which his new genus was based, it is unrecognizable.
