Procyathophora Weissermel, 1928: 229 is a not a scleractinian.

The type of this taxon, cerioid, Ladinian P. fuerstenbergi (Eck, 1888) has nearly the same structure as mostly plocoid, Ladinian-Early Norian Cassianastraea reussi Volz,1896 so, most likely, it is a hydrozoan, order Lemniscaterina (compare Gallitelli-Montanaro 1979). Another synonymous taxa are Elasmophyllia Cuif,1973 (homonym of Elasmophyllia d'Achiardi, 1875) and Hydrosclera Gaetani and Fois,1979. Skeletons of these colonial organisms represent morphotypes from cerioid to plocoid.
