Type Species

Palaeohelia collignoni Alloiteau, 1958: 119.; Original Designation Alloiteau, 1958: 119.

Type Specimen: Syntype; M05127; Verified; Unknown

Type Locality: Upper Albian of Madagascar Majunga).

Classification

Diagnosis

Colonial, dendroid. Corallites short, embedded in a dense coenenchyme. Gemmation extracalicinal (-marginal). Septa compact, radially arranged, margins feebly granulated, laterally spinose. Costae absent or very reduced. Anastomosis rarely present. Columella spongy. Pali present in two crowns. Endothecal dissepiments sparse.

Distribution

  • Central Europe; Late Cretaceous
Late Cretaceous: France, Czech Republic. Early Cretaceous: Madagascar.
