Palaeomontlivaltia Alloiteau, 1957, p. 108 is nomen nudum (unavailable and invalid).

This genus name was created within the description of Palaeophyllia (Alloiteau 1957) as a new genus but, strangely, no type-species is designated and no description is given. Then we consider Palaeomontlivaltia as a nomen nudum. Wells (1986) considered this name as a nomen nullum. We suspect that Alloiteau was referring to Palaeosmilia rather than Palaeomontlivaltia.
