Diagnosis
Colonial. Cerioid. Thin and compacts septa. Distance between septa 5 or 6 times bigger than septal thickness. Rare endotheca. Incomplete septothecal wall with the same septal constitution. . Without columella. Microstructure probably formed by thick and sparce trabeculae intercalated by sclerenchyme
Comparisons
Like Glenarea but without anastomosed septa. Like Isastrea, but Isatrea present septa formed by little trabeculae. Mapucheastrea differ from both because the septal spacing is 5 ou 6 times bigger than septa thickness.
