Classification

Diagnosis

Corallum produced by polystomadeal intratentacular budding resulting in flabello-meandroid arrangement of calices; costae granular; epitheca absent; septa arranged normally; columella absent.

Comparisons

Differs from Stichopsammia in having a normal arrangement of septa and lacking a columella.

Remarks

This genus and family were monographed by Cairns (2001), which included a phylogenetic analysis based on morphology. Monotypic.
